Queer Couples Counseling Telehealth Therapy in Seattle and Washington State
This work is deeply personal, and we are honored to walk beside you, every step of the way.
Healthy relationships are built on a foundation of trust, respect, and open communication. But if that foundation develops cracks or becomes unstable, you may find yourself struggling to connect like you used to. It may seem like you’re having the same arguments about the same topics, can’t agree on anything, or shut each other out.
At Caretta Queer Counseling, our queer-affirming, sex-positive, and inclusive approach to couples counseling honors and respects all identities and relationships, allowing you to rebuild that foundation and reconnect in a safe and affirming space.
Couples Counseling That Honors Everyone
Being in a couple means opening yourself in unexpected ways. While that can be thrilling, it can also make you vulnerable and test your emotions. All couples have their ups and downs, experiencing things like recurring conflicts, intimacy challenges, or working through life's challenges and transitions.
While queer couples may also experience these issues, they also face unique challenges, which could mean navigating things like nontraditional relationship structures, coping with stigma and biases, or having to explain and justify your relationship to family, friends, and total strangers.
Why Choose Caretta Queer Counseling?
We work and live in Capitol Hill!
At Caretta Queer counseling, our therapists are queer-affirming, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and kink-aware, helping you build an authentic relationship rooted in integrity, consent, and trust. We honor and welcome all types of queer couples including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, poly, and ENM.
We’ll work as a team so you can:
Understand your sexual orientation and gender identity and how that impacts your relationship
Disclose your relationship and handle any microaggressions that come with that
Work through any depression or anxiety that’s impacting how you related to one another
Address sexual shame around your orientation and relationship
Not every relationship is meant to last and if that’s what’s best for yours, we’ll help you work together toward a mutual understanding and part in a healthy way
Please note: Not every couple is right for couples therapy. If one partner is actively addicted to drugs or alcohol or there’s abuse in the relationship, we may recommend you seek individual therapy before couples counseling.

Insurance and Fees
We do not accept insurance for couples counseling. Insurance requires a diagnosis for an individual, but we treat the whole relationship. Because of this approach, there is no mental health diagnosis or service code, meaning the work we do in couples therapy is not billable, even for out-of-network reimbursements, and we do not provide a superbill for couple counseling
We accept credit and debit card payments for couples counseling.
Couples counseling is $200 per 50 minute session.
